Last week I put a nice Gen 2 G19 on layaway. Went into same pawn shop today to put money on the G19. They had a Gen 1 G17 with Austrian proof marks. AY serial #. My research on this site shows 1986 date for this pistol. The slide had serious wear from what seems to be normal wear and not abuse. The frame was beat up pretty bad. It had an extended slide stop, and stock sights. It had a grip plug that was metal and had been attached with screwsThe front of the trigger guard looks like it has had something circular attached--somewhat looks like some hot piece of metal was melted into the grip and then screwed in with 3 screws. There are 3 holes completely through the front part of the trigger guard. I told the sales lady "Somebody sure buggered this thing up." She looked at me like I was silly. Anyway, the price on it was $379. I asked if it could be discounted. I was told that it hasn't been in the store long enough to give a discount. What do you think? Can the frame be repaired?
