MAN! I just got me a brand spankin' new GSSF hat thru the mail today!
I tore that package open like a 2 year old does a Christmas Present!
    and then YEEEEECHHHHHHH!!!!!
Good Gawd, Gaston..that thing was a dead ringer copy of a mp43(or was that 46?) "German Army Tank Commander's Hat" with that high crown on the front of it!
I RAN for the sewing kit, threaded up some black"all purpose", tucked that top center seam and whipstiched into something a bit more "cosmopolitan"...NOW it looks like a good old redneck shootin' hat, not something that Owens fella found in a warehouse in Lower Slovovia and sells in Sportsmans Guide!!!!!
I *may* set up a sewing booth right next to the Glock Armors at the next GSSF shoot!

the hat does suck - however they did go to great lengths to make sure that it was made in america. I doubt I'll wear mine much though.

Ahh, you lucky devil. I have 2 that are round domed with bills. Look like they used S. Gilbertson's head for a model. Aerodynamic even. No extra volume at all for vent space. Want to trade one for one? Take the stitches out of yours first.

    Danny.

That is the type and appearance of the way Scott wears his hat. Not a comment on his ethics, personality, or demeanor. Just his appearance in his hat. I know. I have seen him since you have.

Here's the vital statistics..on the front of the hat...
from the bottom of the bill to the bottom of the logo is 1.305"
    the logo is 1.175"
from the top of the log to the top of the front panel WAS 1.625"
the front of that hat was 4.105"...and it looked like something a German tank commander would wear, or something that Foghorn Leghorn would wear courtin'...
THE fix: I just rolled thecenter top seam together to get all that xcess crown hidden...and stitched it from the inside.
Now the hat measures 2.70" from the bottom of the bill to the top of the front, and is DARNED fine piece of headgear!
I think I can win with it!

    Hiya;
I wonder if they were designed low volume so we can wear ear muffs or electronic hearing protection with our crunching the hat.

Appreciate all the work that went in that; just got mine & didn't know if Flitz & Dremel would be called for. ;f
(Was hoping for the nice earth-tone version Jackie pointed out.)

I suspect if you're still within .005" on the logo that'll be legal. A pic or two would still be helpful; this will certainly be one of the most searched-for tech solutions. :joker:
