Within the last month or two, the vast majority of gas stations around here have gone to 10% ethanol. Is this going on everywhere?

Been that way for a long time around here. Only one station in town has the good stuff. Guess they want everyone to get 15% worse mileage.

Man it has been that way around here for 4 or 5 years. It is very hard to find any real gas around here.

Been E10 for years around here as well.
We have one station that has one pump dedicated to 100% gasoline. Costs extra.

I've often wanted to scratch out the word "enriched" on the "enriched with 10% ethanol" stickers and replace it with "diluted".

You can thank the farm lobby. After all... it's good for the industry.

That's about all we can find around here. It's difficult to find boat gas or lawncare gas anywhere, anymore.

There's one pump in my town that's "E-free". That's the one I use for everything but the vehicles.

MN was the first state to mandate 10% ethanol. It's going to 20% in 2015. Yay!!!not

I have no problem with Ethanol if it works (NASCAR runs 100% Ethanol now I think) but it seems like no one is interested in using any biomass other than corn (which is also a foodstock). I've said for years that kudzu is the way to go - not only is it useless for anything else other than erosion control but it will grow 7 inches a day on rock. Imagine if you actually watered and fertilized the stuff.

I do think older cars (non-Flex Fuel) can't burn it as effectively.

I think most lawn care stuff can use 10% ethanol with no problem. I know pressure washers can and the engine is basically the same. Of course you will lose some performance. The problem is with E85.

    Wrong.

Ask any honest small engine repair shop. ANY of them will tell you that ~75% of engine problems stem from ethenol in gas.

Old "e-gas" is hell on an engine. Old dino-gas isn't great, but it won't mess up seals, gaskets, etc. like "e-gas" will.

Small engine repair shops LOVE ethanol. It pours business in!!!

Put premium, ethanol FREE in small engines.

I meant they will run on it.

I think they make additives that will combat that. Sucks you have to use them though. If you have to use E10 the best bet is to probably drain the carb when putting the unit up for the winter.

This list subject to change, talking to one of our stations here in Corpus Christi, his non ethenol gas is about to turn ethenol. You think about it, use to be several tankers serviced the city, now in some cities one tanker services the whole city, hope this ain't a trend to come.

It's not just efficiency but power loss too. I noticed a HUGE difference in power when I leave Kommiefornia and start using real 100% gas. In state, my vehicles all suffer from degraded performance and economy. Sucks... right now I am searching to see if there is an additive that I can use that will recover what the silly enviro-weenies have taken without damaging my engines.

The truth is we either need e85 or ethanol free. If we are going to force ethanol upon the population we might as well use e85 so there is actually a benefit. E10 simply dilutes the gas and drives prices of corn up. There are many other crops which can produce ethanol which aren't normally consumed for food.

My opinion is the government needs to quit regulating things out of fear and instead focus on solving this countries real issues. The first major issue being the over regulation by government.

Also another issue as we increase the ethanol concentrations in our fuel many older cars will have issues.
