I've read that the Glock 21 and 30 tend not to function well with semiwadcutter ammunition.

The good news is that this doesn't appear to be the case (at least so far) with the Glock 37. I just tested mine tonight with a handload: Hornady 185gr JSWC, 4.0gr Solo 1000, Fed 100 primer, 0.470" crimp, 1.052" OAL. All of the rounds fed and functioned just fine, despite being even stubbier than than the commercial .45 GAP loads. They were soft-shooting and accurate, too. :)

Has anyone out there tried any GAP handloads with cast LSWC bullets?

Ive played around a bit with 255 lswc and titegroup

hasnt been 100% reliable, but the 255 has a really wide metplat and I guess Im surprised it works as well as it does

nice to be able to see the bullet on its way to the target

I had good luck with Lasercast 200's in my G37, but could only load 9 rounds in the magazines. I've since then added #7151 bases to all 10 of my G37 magazines.

When you cram a 255 grain bullet into that little GAP case, how much space do you have left for powder? Did your loads show signs of high pressure?

    not much room at all

I wasnt pushing them all that hard - trying to barely cycle the slide - but I suspect that there really isnt much room on the upside before things get out of control quick.... so little room left

heck, hodgedon didnt want to talk to me about the 255's in an ACP case.... theres no way theyre gonna talk about the GAP

I just tried another handload with a SWC bullet:

Master Blaster 185 gr. "Poly-M" LSWC
    4.0 gr Solo 1000
    Federal 100 primer
    1.046" OAL
    0.470" crimp

It shot much like the Hornady JSWC load: mild and accurate with 100% functioning in my G37. My only complaint is that I couldn't find all of my brass. ;u
