G34 Gens

    What are the different generations of the G34? How do you tell them apart?

    The Glock 34 has only been offered in Gen3 and Gen4 models. The main visual differences would be in the frame; click the link below, and see the photo in post #1 of that thread to compare the frame differences between generations:

    A Gen3 model 34 would have the frame in the middle of the photo (labeled Gen3); a Gen4 would have the frame style shown near the top.


    Also, the Gen4 guns have "Gen4" stamped on the left side of the slide immediately following the model number. This makes it pretty easy to identify the Gen4 models, assuming you can see that side of the handgun (not always possible in a store's display case or in a photo).

    It is also worth mentioning that the early gen 3 34s had a 2 pin frame for a short while before glock standardized and made all the frames including 9mm 3 pin frames.
