I was at my local gun shop yesterday seeing if there were any G33s in stock. The guy at the counter checked their inventory on their computer system and said "Nope they have been discontinued by Glock". I'm wondering if maybe the store has just stopped ordering them or if there is any truth to what he said. Thanks for any info.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Did he offer to sell you another model or brand? That would be my first clue that he just didn't have any in stock and wanted to move inventory off the shelves.

That goes without saying. Just curious if anyone has heard anything like that. Doesn't seem quite right to me.

I was under the impression that it was one of the more popular in the lineup. Would be shocked if they discontinued it!

It might be very popular with GTers, but not to the general public. Most people can't shoot a G33 worth crap. I was told there is one G33 made for every 30,000 or so Glocks. That could be a load of crap, but no gun store around here stocks them. I had to special order mine, and it came directly from the Glock factory.

The engineering cost and the manufacturing tooling set-up has already been paid for. Why would they drop it, I can't see why it would cost Glock anything to keep making the G33.

The gun store clerk lied to you because he figured you might buy something he actually has in stock. Simple.

Besides a G33 is a G27 with a barrel fitted for a slightly different cartridge, different followers in the magazine, and different markings on the slide and barrel. Even though the demand for G33s is lower, they already have everything they need to produce them.

I see what your saying but I disagree. Im guessing that the store itself has stopped stocking them for some reason. I will call the store tomorrow and see if I get the same answer from a different clerk and if I do Ill see what Glock has to say.
