My buddy who has his FFL just informed me that he can get me a Glock 30sf in OD green for $580.

I know that they are really hard to find so 580 doesn't seem like a bad price. I am really tempted to tell him to buy it but then I would have two 30sf.

    Opinions?

I could also sell my standard one and use all aftermarket accessories that I just bought on the OD green one.

I guess if it's your thing then go for it, but why would you want two of the same gun just because one is a different frame color? I guess you could buy the OD and sell the other one.

But then again apparently people are willing to pay big money for the OD green Glocks, so I dunno.

    BUY it and FLIP it.

I guarantee someone wants one bad enough that they have more $$ than they do sense and want it. :)

Buy it. The OD gun are way better built and shooting. :whistling:
Really buy it and sell the black one. You can always get a black one later. The OD may not be found as easy or at that price later.

Do you like the OD? I wouldn't buy it due to the fact I don't like them.

I actually like the dark earth better but I am under the impression that a 30sf one doesnt exist. I guess its more of a rare thing for me because his supplier says that they only have one in stock.

I think Glock made every model in OD. A buddy of mine saw a G37 in OD today while he was out hopping between gun stores.

I personally wouldn't mind having an OD G17, simply for the novelty of it. But I wouldn't pay any more than $50 over standard price for it. I saw an OD 17 for $550 on TheOutDoorsTrader a few days ago. If I had the money, I would have snagged it.

Thats what makes finding this one so rare. Most people dont even know they exist.

I agree it would be rare presuming it is an OD and SF.

Yeah that is why I kept asking him if he was sure that it was an SF and not the standard. Hes a good guy so Im sure that he wouldnt lie to me.

I have trouble believing that it's truly an OD SF. As far as I know OD SF models were never sold to the public. Also as far as I know, the only OD SF model ever made by Glock was the G21SF that Glock made for the Joint Combat Pistol trials. It was OD and SF, had the ambi magazine catch, and a picatinny rail.

The G21SF's with ambi mag catch and picatinny rail sold to the public were never offered in OD.

I'm sure you guys are probably right but wouldn't he know if it was an actual OD SF. I did find one online but that was sold awhile ago.

Have you thought about painting the frame with Cerakote? Brownells has the air-dry version for about $40.00 (only a 4 oz bottle - but they claim you can do 2 -3 handguns with it.

You have to sandblast the parts and degrease then paint with an airbrush. I have not painted one yet, but plan to paint my lower when I paint the AR15 I am building.

The vast majority of gun shop employees are clueless and think they know what they are talking about but actually don't. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if you end up getting in a non SF OD.

I guess it was just wishful thinking. Oh well I will just go buy a G21 Gen4.
