Hey all,

I have seen a few users comment on how they like the G30 with the 9 round mags much better for carry than the usual 10 rounders. I have never had a chance to see one or hold one of these variants. I have handled the 36 and 30 and really liked the 36 the way it comes from the factory. I can see however, that the extended base bad than comes standard on the 30 and 36 could cause a problem when reloading. I don't know if it is big enough to cause a pinch though. I am guessing that is why people are using the 9 round mags in it. Is that true?

Can someone post a pic of the 30 with these 9 round mags? Also can you use the same floorplate being used for the 9 round mags in the model 36 mags? Anyone tried that? If so, please post pics of that too?

No. Someone modified a G36 magazine tube and floorplate once to shorten it to 5 rounds and have it fit more flush: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1334377

Just stroll down to the 10Ring & look up a G29. Thy are built in the same frame.

My EDC G30sf and 9rd mag. I am smaller and started out right off with a 9 rd mag and a 10 rd'r as my spare. It has a Wolf 21# spring and non-captive rod, extended slide stop and release. Notice even though it's a G30sf I took off the finger stippling, can't explain the difference but feels great.

As for pinching 9 and 10 rd'r do it to me, just sometimes and not enough to be a concern.

My G27 9+1, G30sf 9+1, G20sf 15+1 front to back.

I had a 9rd for a G30SF with a +0 finger extension. It was a nice carry and fit my hand much better.

+1 on the Pearce pinky extension, I have them on my 10 round G-29 mags (same size as 9 round G-30 mags).
