I would like to get the 30SF. I have 20SF and 21SF after comparing with the 20 and 21. SF versions much more comfortable in my hand. So I'm thinking the 30SF is the way to go but I've read here about some serious reliability issues with the 30SF.
Can anybody comment on first hand knowledge of issues with the 30SF? I've seen a lot of very positive posts on the 30.
Help me understand the issues with the 30SF (if there really are a lot of issues!)
    TIA!!

I have a later build date 30SF (NWYxxx) with the 4256-1- connector and have zero issues. I have well over 1K rounds through this one now and absolutely no RTB problems. I think Glock got the bugs worked out. It is extremely accurate, felt recoil is light, and it is my favorite handgun. It is my daily carry and I trust my life with it.

That glowing report combined with your confidence level makes me want to get one! Knock it off!

    Just kidding of course! :wavey:

    I have always been a little envious of satisfied 30 owners. I just can't see how the 30 can't be a winner.:dunno:

I have no problems with my G30SF.
If I did, I would fix them.
If I couldn't, I'd get rid of it.
Is this the last gun you ever will buy?
Will you not be able to get rid of it if you don't like it?
If you like it, just get it!
We are not talking about thousands and thousands of dollars here.

Got an SF, like it, shoot it. I don't have hundreds of rounds through it. It does have a slight mark on the trigger bar but has only had any problems feeding some Winchester ammo that someone gave me that had a weird bullet profile.

I like the SF and would not hesitate in recommending one.

I would not know of any problems w the 30sf if not for the internet. I would never have noticed marks on the trigger bar as I do not inspect the inner parts that closely and would be unaware.

    Get it, the 30SF.

I was in the SAME EXACT BOAT. The 21 didnt quite feel "right". The 21SF was perfect. The 30 felt blocky/chunky, the 30SF felt like it was MADE for my hand.

I did care for the 21 either. The 30 is AWESOME. I don't recall if I sot the 30 or 30sf though. Definitely my next gun. The light recoil is great. Feels so chunky and solid.

I had a G30SF. Jammed numerous times and RTB issues. Sent it back to Glock. Got a new replacement G30. No issues with this gun. I have large hands and can not tell the difference between the two. My G30 is also my favorite Glock to shoot out of the five I own. Carry it daily. Picture attached...

I have a 30SF, love it. It is my nightstand, carry, and car gun. It is the everything gun. i have never had an issue with it (nor any of my other glocks). I would say get it, you will love it.

I got a 30sf that had the FTRTB issues. I simply ordered a replacement trigger bar from Lone Wolf (exact same part number 4256-1) and it has been flawless ever since.

My personal opinion is that Glock had a bad batch of trigger bars.

Get the 30sf - you will not be disappointed!!! It is my favorite so far.

I read all the threads on the 30SF trigger bar issue. I ended up liking the feel of the 30 over the 30SF. In all my talking and research at local shops, no one had heard of the FTRTB problem. I know some real people has real issues but they were a pretty small portion of the population. Buy one! I love my 30.

Wait for the Gen. 4, and you will have both.

Yep, that's my guess also. All the subcompacts will be the last to change over.

I recently bought a new 30SF that was test-fired in Oct 2008. The pistol had frequent failures to return to battery the first time out. I called Glock and they emailed me a UPS shipping label. The gun is back in Georgia, and will likely be there another month or so. If the problem isn't fully remedied, It'll either go back to Glock or will be sold. The technician said that some guns are manufactured "in spec, but the variances are all skewed the same way." Who knows.

Well, that didn't take you long. Congrats! I have a G30SF with over 5K rounds through it without one single failure of any type. I used to own only 1911s in .45 ACP. I can't speak for all model Glocks but the G30/G30SF is a great gun.
