I just purchased a new G30 and intend to use it to shoot my first GSSF match in the near future. I have changed the sights to Heinie Straight 8 Slant Pros. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what additional changes and equipment may be beneficial and GSSF legal? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Changes I made to my G30:

    1) 3.5 connector
    2) smooth trigger (from G21)
    3) Pierce grip extensions (NOT Scherer)
    4) G17L extended slide release (not needed for GSSF, but I prefer it)

    Good luck!

i don't like the extended slide stop because of the chance to thumb it and cause it to not engage. only thing i've done to my competition guns is heinie rears and dawsons fiber optic fronts and skate board tape. i'd buy enought mags to not have to load mags during the match and one for a stripper mag, total of 11. on the other hand lot of shooters like to laod mags while they wait.

Appreciate the advice. Is the GSSF manual correct in stating you need 150 rounds per category of fire? With 11 magazines that would equate to 110 rounds no? Why Pearce magazine bases but not Scherers?

The Scherer mag extensions don't fit as well as the Pierce ones. The Scherers pinch my pinkie - there's a gap between the top of the Scherer and the bottom of the grip.

I understand that some folks don't like the extended slide release. I think it depends alot on the size and shape of each shooter's hands. For me, there's no chance that I will ride the safety. And, without the extended release, I can barely thumb the release off.

Now, before the GT Police chime in, I realize that Glock is designed to use the slingshot method of releasing the slide. I grew up shooting 1911s, and I can thumb the slide release automatically. So, again, this is why I mentioned that the extended slide release was my preference, but not needed for GSSF.

Scherer bases are not legal in GSSF, but Pearce bases are.

Course of fire in all categories except Major Subcompact is 107 rounds, and the minimum is about 81. Load up 4 mags for the plates and 3 each for the Glock M and 5TG.

You may use G21 magazines, but not A&G mag sleeves.

I set up my G30 the same as all my other Stock GSSF guns. Bomars, Triggerjob and griptape. There is not much else you cna do and stay legal in stock.

Then are you allowed to have glock 3.5's in all guns or just in the ones they originally came with.

Any gun , and any class as long as it's a Glock 3.5 not an aftermarket one.

Agrip might not be for everyone, but it works.

I wonder why Pearce extenders are ok, but Sherer are not. Anybody know?

I think Pearce extenders made them for Glock origionaly. But not Sherer. There for Pearce is allowed and not Sherer. I think !!!!
