I just bought a new G30 My first Glock. I havent shot it yet and have had it about a month. How can I tell if its the 30 or the 30sf model. please forgive my ignorance but thought I'd ask the pros plus I'm concerned about all the problems I've been reading about them. Thank you for any and all your help.

    Regards,

    David

The SF stands for Short Frame. They make the top of the grip slimmer (from front to back) and it fits my hand PERFECT while the regular 30 feels too blocky.

    Oh and congrats!! :wavey:

Apparently, the SF is the one with the problems. But, I understand that this has been addressed by Glock.

Nope,....some G30 models have the problem as well.
The problem can be from the 4256-1 trigger bar or,
from low rear slide rails in the frame.

The the distance between the trigger and backstrap of the 30SF is about 3mm thinner than the 30.

What problems are you referring to? My G30 has been flawless so far.

Some of the G30 models have low rear frame rails.
This exagerates the "stiff magazine" insertation as well as the
    trigger bar rub and FTRTB.

    Search "FTRTB" in General Glocking
