    Nostalgia won out.

I kinda figured I had my CC arsenal pretty well in hand but then I began thinking about the potential for making a move back to Minnesota as a result of several factors, including the ability to hunt game and catch fish and raise a garden (things that would be almost impossible to do in Arizona). If this pandemic is just the beginning of similar episodes that might disrupt the food supply chain, it would be great to live near water and can my own veggies.

Along with that scenario is the potential of self defense against perpetrators in many layers of fabric, polar fiber and goose down … factors that could hinder stopping a threat with my EDC, a Sig Sauer P365 with Federal HST 124 grain standard pressure loads (my preferred choice in temperate to hot climates).

Added to those factors is my nostalgia for my first Glock: a G27 purchased in the winter of 2004-05. I shot that gun very well in action pistol matches and so far (knock on wood) I have no arthritis or other hand/wrist pain to stir up with the recoil of the 'snappy' .40 caliber loads I have for my old G23.2, which would get used in the 27.

Finally, I got my stimulus cash from my grandkids and sold a boat, so I'm a bit flush for a change and Glock (blast them!) renewed the old Salute To Veterans program, so I went ahead and ordered a Blue Label G27.4 from the LGS in Arizona and will pick it up when we migrate back to the south in September.

I'm on the verge of ordering another Galco Ultimate Second Amendment horsehide tuckable holster for AIWB carry … a method I used for many years before retirement and after. I actually love that rig for in-and-outs to stores, restaurants, etc. Not the best for a rapid draw and there's NO WAY I'd ever try to re-holster the weapon while on my body, but I was always impressed by the way it just didn't print, even under an untucked t-shirt and shorts, unless I was walking into a stiff wind.

Any other GT'ers out there who find the G27 to be a premium choice for CC? What do you like about yours? What ammo do you like? What holsters do you like?

Currently, I have a good supply of Federal HST 180 grain rounds and they did VERY well in the Lucky Gunner gel tests, outshining my favorite HST loads for the Sig.

Let's hear some love for the G27.

I have a 27 Gen 4 that I carried until I got my Glock 43. The 43 has since been replaced by a Sig. I actually prefer to my 27 to my 26.

My gen3 27 has been flawless. I use Winchester Train & Defend for CC. It's low recoil ammo but still lobbing a 180 grain slug.

    Love my Gen 2.5 27.

I do have a bit of arthritis in my right hand and have found the + magazine extension to be perfect for more holding area.

I've got a total of about 22,000 rounds through my two G 27 gen 3's with nary a hiccup. Most has been FMJ range ammo, but 180 grain HST, PDX1 and Win Q4369 have been flawless as well. I carry the 27 because it has one of the highest power to weight ratios in a subcompact.

Anyone wants to trade me their 40sw/357sig slide for a 9mm slide? I traded all my 40sw slides aways except for a G35 slide. I need another Glock 40sw in my life :)

Been carrying my G27.3 since sometime shortly after 2000. Bought used, can't remember when. My EDC and house gun. Both wear Glock night sights and are normally loaded with 180 grain HST.

Love my G27! Triple Caliber Shooter - Does great with .357 and 9mm too with the "conversion" barrels!

We just went to a match today, and G27 did it's part, the shooter is a bit rusty after a 12 month break from Actions Pistols and USPSA. The G23 did a fine job as well... Today was "Test The Carry Pistols" day at the Action Pistol match for me... and the only sutter I had was with the new to me StormLake 9mm conversion barrel... Otherwise, quite reliable and accurate!

Pearce plus 2 base plate, this rig has been out of rotation for awhile. Me thinks it needs to come back out soon.

Well, I have been carrying my 2.5 gen G-27 since the mid 90’s. Right now it’s sitting right next to my car keys for when I head out tomorrow morning.
It’s not just for carrying, if needed I want to defend myself with this bull dog. 180 gr Winchester PDX-1, I hope let’s me do that.
