I'm taking my CHL class tomorrow, and I want to qualify with one of my Glocks but i'm not sure what to take. Which should I take out? Which would be more accurate? The 26 is pretty accurate but a bit smaller... Glock 26 - 9mm Glock 21 - .45ACP
Since you own both and presumably have shot both wouldn't you best answer that yourself? Which do you shoot better?
At my class they put a barn door out at 7 yards and said that's the target. (well, almost) you should do fine with either one. the 26 will turn into your edc. unless you want to carry a huge 21 around. its also cheaper to shoot.
Use whichever gun you feel the most comfortable with. I used an XD9SC (the equivalent of the G26) and had no trouble at all passing the qualification test.
Unless you have to carry the same gun you qualified with(not very common, but I think there are a few places like that), shoot the one you're more comfortable with. Which one are you more accurate with? Both guns are far more accurate than most shooters will ever be, so it comes down to which one you're more accurate and more comfortable with.
Here in AZ its 5rns at 5 yards and 5 rns at 10 yards hiting an 18in by 24in target. Aim close your eyes and rapid fire. You will pass. NV is the only state i know of that you have to Qualify with what you carry. Have fun and enjoy your 2nd Amendment.
I agree with the which are you more comfortable with shooting... But I will say this that I qualified with my 21 more comfortably than with my 30SF, overall shorter weapons I don't shoot quite as well with full size.. but that's just me. It's whatever you're better at in the end!
I shoot both of my 26's better than the 21 I had. Take whichever you like better. Accuracy isn't as crucial as being comfortable with the one you choose.
Took the test yesterday, and Yes I passed. Now i just need to mail in my paperwork for my CHL and i'll get it. I believe I shot a 240 out of 250. It was very much a joke of a test. The G26 ended up doing it, because the ammo is cheaper and it was dead on accurate. I didn't need the other 2" of barrel to hit the target...good ol' Glock
You dont show much confidence in your skills which is concerning for someone getting a ccw permitt. Please practice and get involved with uspsa or idpa shooting or at least some formal training. Good luck and take practice seriously from here on out.
I've only put about a 1000rds through my G26, it's better to be a little hesitant than cocky in my opinion. But I will continue to practice as much as I can
