So I just bought a G26 to compliment my 17 and 19. It looks and feels great and I can't wait to shoot it!

I was wondering though, when looking at other G26's I notice the magazine base plate is flush with the bottom of the grip, but mine sticks out about a millimer or two. Is this something to do with the new ambi mags and the way they sit? Would an older mag be flush? Does anyone have pics of their new G26 vs. an old one?

I will try and post pics soon.

    Thanks!

Is this what you're talking about?

if you got big/fat hands watch your pinky, I guess alittle of my pinky way between the magazine and the gun, so when I fired I got pinched something bad

my g26 bought new in December is the same way, mags stick out just a bit....I think this contributed to the pinching I was getting on my little finger with the Pierce mag extensions....even after 5k rounds they still sit the same...could explain why some people get pinching and some dont with mag extensions...:dunno:

Mine is like in the picture. I guess they are longer indeed than the older ones. Should the older mags work fine though if I come across one?

my suggestion with the pinching issue, place your pinky finger under the magazine base plate it works well for me.

The older mags sit more flush, the new ambi-cut stick out a millimeter or so. It's normal. Both types of mags will work in your gun.

You are right, new ambicut mags are a little longer than the old ones, no problem normal perfection.

Just checked my 26. Bought it NIB last summer '09. The mags, empty and full stick out like the the one shown in the pic.

Never had a pinch yet and I have big hands. Long fingers not so much the sausage variety.

When i first fired my G26 i was getting the meat at the end of my pinky finger pinched at the rear of the magazine. had to try to relax my pinky finger so it wouldn't rest there. Got used to it, but you are right...smarts the first few times.

I like running the hogue grip with plus 1 base. It feels great and the hogue hides the gap.

A lot of times it will do this when the mag is loaded as opposed to an empty mag
