    Agree.

Simplest is to just use the 26 as is for the nightstand gun.

Next upgrade for real cheap is just buy a G19 or G17 mag, to stick in it over night.

That's why I like to practice close up, out to 5-7 yards, fast firing, right and left hand laser shooting from the hip.
    And it's fun. :)

Something that's surprising is I do about the same right of left handed, and with or without my eyeglasses
But it's kind of simple. The bullet hits where the Red (Green) dot is. :)

    If that's the case, for a light, then either a G19 or a G23 or a G22.

I only mention the G23 and G22 because on a budget I think they are giving away .40 cal guns these days :)

I also would look for a long slide to go with you're G26 9mm
Might I suggest the Glock 34 or 17L

    I'd go G17 or 45 + Glock 26.

I'm presently using the exact set up you are considering... a G26 for carry and a G41 for nightstand duty... with nightsights and a Glock laser/light combo mounted...

The grip hump on the G19 doesn't set well in my hand and it seems like my finger is squished up under the trigger guard. The G26 fits my hand fine as does the G17, which was my previous nightstand pistol... I also have a G19X, it's a sweet pistol that could fill the roll as well. I carry the G26 with the original 10 rd mag and curl my little finger underneath comfortably ...and it easily conceals inside the waistband... I have some mags with the plus 2 extensions for reloads but I'm comfortable carrying and firing it with the 10 rounders... if I want more ammo in the pistol I'll go with the G19X or G17... I've carried the G17 concealed but the G26 is just easier. If I could have but one Glock... or even just one pistol... my gen 3 G26 might very well be it...

The G26 can fill all the duties I need of a pistol... so using it for carry and nightstand duty would be easy to do... just add a good hand held flashlight.

G26 for carry and a 17rd mag with an xgrip or pachmayr grip sleeve for the nightstand (and backup while carrying).

    You just saved yourself $500.

Not a fan of weapon mounted lights or lasers myself, but I do understand some folks are.

G26 Gen5 is awesome. Never had a G26 until I found a like new used for $175 off normal price. I also keep a G19 mag as backup. Very accurate and a great carry gun. My G43 now sits at home a lot. Magpul 12 rounders work perfect also!

I changed my EDC from a Shield 9mm to a Glock 26.5. I shoot it better and it conceals almost as easy. I use a G19 mag as a reload. I don't use one of those sleeves though. They seem unnecessary to me. G17.5 is my HD weapon and I have a G19.4 I carry occasionally.

Don't need another gun. Just get an extra 19 mag and an X-grip for your 26. Awesome!

I have both. I used to carry the G26 but, now it's relegated to safe duty as I carry the P365 AIWB. My G19 is my bedside and I have a light laser combo. I know friends who CC their 19's but, for me it's too dang big!

If you still want to give away the 26 & 19, I'll take them. That's exactly the combo I have & would love to have duplicates.

Seriously (as others have said) the 19/26 combo is a good fit for me. I like the 26.5 with the Glock 12 rd mag better that the Magpul or Xgrip options. It just fits my hand better & is very secure.

I EDC a Glock 19 Gen 3. I have a Glock 17 Gen 3 with night sights for the nightstand and I used it as a range gun with the Advantage Arms Conversion Unit.

The G26/G19/G17 grips are all acceptable to me. I know people who are like Goldilocks; "its too big, too small or just right".

My first two Glocks were a 19X and a G26.5 - these are fantastic combo and great companions.

My first Glock was the 19X because I had a hard time deciding between 19 or 17 and this was essentially half of each (and was the new cool Glock on the block lol). I added the 26.5 as carry / companionship to the 19X since it can share mags and also serve as another very suitable and shootable gun for the range.

The 26.5 is also a great gun for the glove box or console in your vehicle and you can use the extra 19X mags as backup, etc.

    if I could only have two Glocks, I’d go with a 19X/G45 and a G26.5 :)

My exact setup, works for me. A spare 15 round mag in the nightstand safe and I’m good to go with 30 rounds for things that go bump in the night.

Considering your comments, I suspect it might be time to reflect.

Your comments suggest ownership of numerous handguns, although you imply limited supply today? You state you are on a limited budget.

Im a shooter not a collector: suggest you use what you have for the nightstand and save the funds.

I agree with this. You basically going to have to learn 2 guns 'cause off a draw, you will not point the 26 exactly where you point the 19 and may not control the 26 as well as the 19 when rapid firing.

Nothing wrong with a 26 as a carry and a nightstand gun, with solid ammo, IMO. YbiggerisbetteronthenighstandMMV

Exact combo I have. Nightstand is 19G3 and EDC is 26G3.

I had to practice more with the 26 due to shorter sight radius. Once you get the 26 dialed in, it’s ON. The 19 just feels right and points very well. My first Glock and you just can’t miss with it.

Having this combo allows the 19 to stay in the bedroom and the 26 can remain in the truck when I get home. Ensures in a stressful, rushed moment, I have a firearm at the ready. As a first responder, I find myself jumping in the truck in the middle of the night or at a moments notice. Good to know “It’s always with me.”

    Confidence.

Ha, thanks for the advice to "reflect"!
I've had a habit of shooting specific handguns for a time, then selling them in order to try something else.
In this way, I've become proficient with multiple types of triggers, actions, etc.. and had fun doing it!
Because i cannot afford a collection doesn't mean my handguns need to be limited to forever owning the same guns.
I put many hundreds of rounds on target with many different guns... not a collector, but a shooter!

I can appreciate your thought process.

Myself just recently retiring from Competition I’ve found less distraction in fewer platforms. Settling on a Glock 26 and 17 for 20 years has made me a better shooter.

    Good Luck.

ps I do have (3) of each and (40) mags for each platform.
