I just bought a G24 for a really good price ($575 new) and I was planning to shoot it in the GSSF's competition division. I am going to put some DP adjustable sights on it and do some polishing, but that's it, no other modifications. The gun I plan to buy for this division is a G17L but until I find one I thought the G24 would work just fine. I wanted one (G24) for carrying in the WV mountains as a trail gun anyway so why not compete with it. Just wanted your insights and opinions. Anyone?:wavey:

I just purchased a G34 for about the same price to use in the comp division.
Got it today, went to the range and I love this G34.

Shot great and I love the trigger.

the 24 pretty much dominates Comp. just take a look at how many others are shooting one in Comp.

The G34 is my all time favorite Glock pistol. I have one but I turned it into a racegun (which is incredible) so I plan to get another one as soon, as the Gen 4 G34 comes out. Congrats on your new pistol!!!

Thanks Ed, I didn't know that. I guess getting a G17L would be kind of a waste.

I don't know yet but since I just took a new job selling guns at Gander Mountain I probably won't be able to get the days off. I don't want to try to push my luck this early in my employment. But I can hope. I will be in Beckley this weekend though and I hope to see you all there.:wavey:

can you post a pic of the front sight? does it hang over into the cutout on top of the slide? I have been searching high and low for a quality front sight that doesn't protrude into that cutout.

The Dawson Precision sight doesn't even get within a millimeter of the cut-out where glock lightens the slide. I would post a pic but I haven't learned how to yet. My shooting is better than my computer skills!!!
    :)rofl:but not by much!!!!)
