This is more out of curiosity than anything, but has anyone tried this?

I know there are a lot of g22's being cut to take the 23 mags to reduce the grip, but what about barrel and slide length?

Anyone been cutting the dust cover for this reason?

Won't work so don't even try it. The spacing on the locking lug of a G22 barrel is different and will not function on a G23 frame.

Huh, I always thought you could run a 22 barrel through a 23. Didn't know the lugs were in different spots. Thanks for the head's up.

    You can use a G23 barrel in a G27.
    You can use a G32 barrel in a G23 or G27.
    You can use a G33 barrel in a G27.
    You can use a G35 barrel in a G22/G31.
    You can use a G24 barrel in a G35 or G22/G31.
    You can use a G31 barrel in a G22

    You cannot use a G22/G24/G35 barrel in a G23/G32 or G27/G33.

As I read your question, you are asking if shortening the grip affects slide and barrel length????

Shortening the G22 grip to accept G23 mags has no effect on the original slide and barrel.

Why do a fool thing like that, unless you want a G23 "longslide"?

    Buy a G23.

If you are asking if you can turn a G22 into a G23-- again why do a fool thin like that-- just buy a G23 and sell your G22. You come out even.

I said from the beginning this was just out of curiosity, and frankly i don't think it's foolish at all.

I have no problem concealing the handle of my 22, but the slide tends to stick out from under my shirt or pokes me in the rear when I do IWB.

I handle the 22 grip just fine, but an inch off the slide would be perfect.

I also don't think the "23 long slide" is foolish either, and given the number of places selling frame cuts, I'm sure I'm not the only one. Enhanced sight radius and longer barrel = better accuracy.
