Well a budy of mine just picked up a new G22 gen 4 yesterday and I picked up a G23 RTF last week. So we are heading to the range today. I have already put some rounds through my G23 but I am looking forward to trying out his G22. Should be a good day going to be in the forties that's a heat wave in february in maine.

Well I got to try my buddy's new G22 gen 4 at the range yesterday. The pistol shot really nice. The recoil seemed to be pretty mild. I wish I would of had a gen3 to shoot side by side. The dual spring guide rod is pretty stiff. My buddy had one fte but we did not have any issue's after that. We put 150 rounds through it. I really liked it alot not sure if I want the G22 or maybe the G17. He did not try the medium or large back strap it fit his hand good just the way it was. Looking forward to another range trip.

If you take note, the slide of the Glock gen 4 is significantly "weaker" in comparison to previous gens. The "ring" left on the front of the slide to accommodate the double recoil spring plug looks "flimsy". :dunno:

In proper context, no big deal on the ring.

they have reduced alot of material to compensate for the dual guide rod. Will be interesting to see how that holds up.

It should be just fine as it looks the same to me as the Glock 26,27 & 33.

And here's how it looks from the side the spring seats against. Looks "beefier" than the existing compact and subcompact slides which are both considerably thinner where it matters:
