Well, the subject says it all.
    Almost all that is.

About 13 months ago I installed a new Lasermax laser in my G23.
Everything has been okay until about two weeks ago.

I noticed that the laser dot was up and to the right a bit as well as the dot was as fuzzy as a cotton ball.

So I ordered up some new batteries and tripled checked that the battery cap was installed correctly.

The cap was indeed installed correctly and the new batteries did nothing for the fuzzy red dot.

    Any suggestions?
I hate to think I crapped out that kind of change just to watch it go to hell.

Not to be a smart ass but, yeah, several times. the lens is nice and clear. No hint of powder residue.

There's a LaserMax thread around here with someone from LaserMax answering questions. Give him a post, he'll set you straight

I came across this same problem about 2 years ago. Lasermax refers to this as "Butter Beam" and occurs when solvent / lubricant get trapped behind the lens of the laser and causes the laser to become distorted. You have to send it back to Lasermax for repair.

This happened to me. So I took a Q-Tip soaked in alcohol and cleaned the lens. If the dot is off center just re-adjust it on the barrel.
