I want to use my G22 with a TLR2 for home defense. I just read a gun magazine that explained the problem Glock 22 .40's have with Streamlight TLR2 attached. This effected many police departments. I had heard of it before but didnt understand. Malfunctions could be caused by the high velocity of the slide with 40's. The slide moves so fast that it could close before the next round fully feeds up from the magazine causing a malfunction. Would using the 180 gr. result in slide velocity being any slower than with 165's? If so, maybe the 180s would be a better choice. I use speer gold dots.

First of all this was a limited issue. It was not an issue with all guns. If it was an issue with a gun it was resolved by installing the new 11 coil magazine spring. If you intend to use the TLR series light you will want to prove it first by spending a little time at the range.
BTW: There never was an issue using Glock factory or Insight Technology lights.
