Now that I have a Glock 22 I was thinking of getting a 9mm bbl for it. I've been offered a Glock 17 bbl at a really good price but am not sure if the barrels are interchangeble between these two models. Does anyone know if this will work or am I better off getting a g22 conversion bbl? I don't want to try it and get a KB.

    Thanks for the advise.

You cannot use the factory G17 barrel, as it has a smaller outside diameter than the G22 barrel. You would have to get a conversion barrel.

You CAN use a G17 barrel in your G22, but accuracy will suffer somewhat. How do I know (you ask)? Because I've done it. As a fatter of mact, I even competed with this setup in IDPA twice.

I have since purchased a proper 9mm conversion barrel and recommend that you do the same.

Bottom line: I suspect that you'll be disappointed with the gun's lackluster accuracy without a conversion barrel.

It does work(also tried it in the G23/19 platform), but not perfectly.

    Barrel slops around.
    Accuracy suffers.

Ended up with a true conversion barrel in my G31/22 setup.

You could try it, you may be satisfied with the performance. I just wonder what long term use might do, because of the play due to different dimensions mentioned above.

Thanks for the replys everyone. Going on the advise here, I'm going to pass on putting a G17 bbl in. I was directed to a post by Desert_Scorpion who was selling conversion bbls at a decent price. I've ordered a correct 9mm bbl that is for a G22. Thanks again everyone.

Good choice! That's exactly where I got my 9mm conversion barrel.
