I heard somewhere (probably here awhile back) that certain models slides and frames can be run interchangably. Don't remember many of the details, but I mentioned it off hand to my friend who has a G22 and also happens to really like the grip size on my G23...so naturally he wants to try putting his slide and barrel assembly on my frame. I'm not sure its going to work though because it seems to me there will be a gap exposing a portion of the spring and guide rod and potential for the end of the slide to snag on the end of my frame when it recoils.

Has anyone tried this? Any pics? I'm nervous about trying it because it seems like my half of the experiment stands the best chance of being damaged. I'm also worried we might get it on ok, but not be able to get it appart.

Barrel lugs are different on fullsize and compact models, and could lock the gun together and make it very difficult to get apart.

Think barrel lugs on 22 and 23 are different.

The only possible way to make this work would be a LONG G23 barrel in the G22 slide.
Even then,.......not sure it would work. :dunno:

In addition, if you do it...like I did...you'll have to contact a gunsmith or Glock to SAFELY remove it.
