So, what's a like new Glock 22 RTF2 with gills going for these days? I found one for $449 just laying in the case on top of its box. Of course the Gen5 19 setting just down the shelf from it was interesting too. ;)

Don’t worry about what we think it should “go for”. If you want it....buy it!

You may miss the opportunity based on what someone else believes the price should be.

That is a good price today, but the 0.40 is out of favor. Some don't like the RTF2 grip as they think it is too aggressive. Like noted above, if you like with then get it.

I have one in my collection, very nice pistol.
However if you want a carry piece, get the G5 G-19.

“The .40 Is out of favor”...
LOL, the stupidest reason not to buy.

You can find .40 ammo. That's reason enough nowadays. The best decision i made was getting a .22lr pistol. And having a 10mm the can shoot 40.

Good price at this time. I would get it just because.

Platform diversity is very important. I would do a 10mm like a Glock 20 or 40 before I did a .40 S&W only gun, especially given that agencies are dumping it like fire ants in your shorts.

This way you can shoot whatever is available.

I picked one up about three years ago at a gun show.
It was like new, could hardly tell it had been fired.
    I gave $375 for it, a gen3 G-22 RTF2, with Gills.
It makes a Half Brother to my gen3 G-22.
and First Cousin to my EDC gen2 G-23.
    I'm waiting for a gen5 G-23. and a 43X or 48 size in 40cal.

I'm glad the .40 is out of favor, the LGS has a ton of it. 9mm a few boxes, .38 Spl maybe a dozen boxes, .40 S&W and entire section of the shelf, both plinkin' and self defense.

Yeah that sounds like the RTF I bought. I think I paid about 389 two years ago.

About a year and a half ago before all guns and ammo went crazy if I recall I believe it was recoil gun works had police trade in unfired g23 rtf2 with gills for 400.00 so happy to to see them I bought 2. I'm still on the search for a 19 with gills.

I don't know if it's still going on in here but I thought Glock Horder or another member was putting up a database of who in here has or collecting the original rtf2 Glocks to try to figure out how many of them there are out in the wild
It's my understanding when they came out nobody wanted them and glock could not even give them away and now they're coveted by most people.
If I recall the rarest one is the g22 rtf2 with gills that's compensated so a g22 rtf2c. Where the regular g22 rtf2 is the most abundant one made with the gills.

Get them both if you can.

the same people that bash the .40, will be first in line when the gen5's come out.

    Nothing wrong with a .40 [only have 1 now G23 RTF2G].
You can buy a conversion barrel for it if you want.

    I would grab that G22 in a heartbeat, I have had 3.

    1 reason to own a .40, it's available.

    It's shot placement that matters.

Don't look now, (wait until Footballs over):

"Buy now) option...………...I would just add ammo.
Couple more correct mags, and a Talon Grip.
If I had 5 1/2 bills it would be mine!

Around here 9, 40, 45, 22, all ammo in short supply.
Seems like I am always in the wrong place at the right time.
The last time I went into Academy to check on Ammo, I came out with four new shirts, no ammo. I needed some shirts.

Well the G-23 Gills is Gone, dang I wanted that one, oh well, somebody got it, and used the “By now” feature !

Cannot have them all now can we, but if I would have had the cash on hand, I would have too.
I could have sold all those extra mags.

I bought a police trade-in G22 with gils during the Gander Mountain going out of business sale for $285. I didn't really want/need a G22, but I couldn't pass it up. The RTF grip on one side has some scuffs (guessing from the seat belt buckle based upon where the wear is and the fact it was a LEO gun).

I don't shoot it, and might part with it for the right price, but am happy to have it. It just sits silently in the safe. Good gun. I have thought about taking it out because I have a few ammo cans of .40&W and it is the round that I am least protective of in these days of hard-to-find ammo.
