So Brazil is swimming against the tide and not vaginizing their primary law enforcement agency so that eveyone does not get a trophy? You either hack it or you don’t. Cool. We used to be like that too.

Interesting that Glock has followed HK in making a pistol actually designed for the .40 S&W versus a modfied 9mm. Looking forward to it.

Actually, Glock beat S&W with their 4006 by delivering a modified 9mm in 40 S&W called the Glock 22 in 1990. The Glock 22 is nothing more than a modified model 17. The model 17 was not suited to handle the 40 S&W causing Glock to modify it by adding the third pin to the frame. Glock then added this third pin to their full line up until dropping the third pin again in the Gen 5 guns.
Glock is now catching up with both S&W and H&K with the Gen 5 22.......

So at least the vids confirm the 40 slide on the gen5 is thicker.

"For the record, the PMESP G22 Gen5 pistols have been produced exclusively for the Brazilian LE agency, featuring a wider slide reminiscent of those used in Glock’s .45ACP and 10mm Auto"

I wonder if that is to compensate for the single locking block pin Gen 5 design?

More slide mass would make it the softest shooting 40 made by Glock. I hope they are offered in the US.

From what I've understood, the Gen 5 frame has been modified/strengthened to where a second pin isn't needed. Time will tell if that is correct.

The Glock 20 with a .40 conversion barrel was noticeably milder than my Glock 35 (with the same Major PF loads) by far...

At this point, the Gen 5 has only been offered in 9mm. The original G17 had no need for the second pin. The second pin was added across the board to make manufacturing the guns easier. With the return of the FBI to 9mm and the Glock M17 (Gen 5 to us lowly civilians)there isn't a need to strengthen the frame at all.

I’d go so far as to say this is how the .40 Glocks should have been made to begin with.

I think the entire premise of the thread you just posted in proves that info false.

Do we think a Glock 37 width slide?

    Interesting...

It’s all that Jiu-Jitsu down there , bad guys are just putting the 9mm rounds in arm bars and making the poor little bullets squeal.

I’ve carried a Gen. 4 Glock 22 all week, IWB Strong side at 2:45 PM —— carries well and lightweght. 180 .40 hits hard too.

Unfortunately they were not at the expense of profit. This could get interesting as I started Competition with the 22’s but broke many a pin and part and finally went with the 17’s.

I would consider 40s in the 22 platform if Glock does it right this time.
