Yes. He can even use the same magazines, he just needs to be very careful not to load the wrong cartridges in the wrong barrel.

Oh good. I forgot that some of the earlier 2nd Gen G22s didn't have the proper frame reinforcement to fire .357SIG.

Your buddy is good to go with a 31 barrel in his gen 3 22. I would highly recommend buying a couple of 31 mags just to lessen the chance of chambering the wrong round.

While the 22 mags will work, the 31 mags do have a different follower and also are marked .357sig.

Enjoy! The .357sig is a wonderful round.

.45ACP out of a G29. Not gonna happen. The breech face of the G29 is too small to accommodate the .45ACP cartridge.

While I wouldn't suggest that it's a good idea, it won't likely hurt anything.

There were two different reinforcements in the 2nd generation 40 S&W Glocks and they came out at separate times. One is extra metal at the front of the frame to reduce frame battering in the 40 S&W models. The one that is the same reinforcement or upgrade as the 357 Sig frames is longer rear rails. I believe the serial number for both changes in 40 S&W models is around CFF-xxx. Glock no longer supports any caliber conversions though.

That might be a replacement frame number. Are there numbers on the slide and barrel? Maybe "DPD" is a police department. Or maybe it is a DPD-xxx serial number.
