    Hi,
Recently I saw a Gen 2 G19, used in very good condition, with 1 magazine for $399. Does the price seem fair? Is there anything to be concerned about regarding durability with only one pin for the locking block? It is a nice gun that I am interested in, but for $20 more would it be better to get a new GSSF G19 in Gen 3 or 4?
    Thanks,
    Magnus

no durablility issues at all with 2 or 3 pin guns, they work fine either way. The price on the gen2's basically reflect not being able to buy them anymore and to some they are a collectors item. It also depends on if you like finger grooves or not. I like the older glocks because they are dwindling down and are hard to find.

    Hi Eagle1,
Thanks for your reply. Do you think $399 seems like an inflated due to perceived collector value of a Gen 2 G19?
    Thanks,
    Magnus

I think $399 is a fair price...on the lower end Gen2 G19s run ~$369 from a retailer like AIM...and they sell out super fast.

Thanks Wizz. This one is in very good shape, so I think I'll go for it. Should be a good all around gun.

Seems a little high to me. I think no more than $350 is more like it. Unless there is collector value that I am unaware of. I've seen police trade ins for $379 all over the place with two mags and night sights.

Thanks High Ground. May be I'll just go for the GSSF G19 current model.

I'd say it's up to you if you might want something that could be considered a collectable. I never see Gen 2's around here.

Wow!!! I would pay it now! I'm looking for another Gen2 G19 and have about given up. With all of the probelms with the Gen3s and Gen4s, I know from personal experience, I would jump on it. Glock is done! Replace the extractor, ejector, limp wristing, use +P ammo, blah, blah, blah. How about, "we screwed up one of our latest slide machining tools and we would initiate a recall of all affected frames but it's just cheaper to jerk folks around by replacing stuff and hope for the best." Time to move on to something else (H&K, S&W, F&N, etc.). I know I'm doing my home work. It pains me to say this after over 20 years of loyality, especially to the G19. I was hoping to score one more "functional" G19 before I moved on.

I'm sure there are many Gen 4's running flawlessly than not. But you say Glock is done?? Really?? I highly doubt that!

I'm sure that we'll all hate to see you go. So will Glock!:faint:Good luck with whatever you try next, especially those "F&N's." Homework huh?
To the OP, IF the pistol's truly in excellent shape then the price is fair. I carried one of those (personally owned) on duty for 13 years and never had a malfunction. I'm sure that I put at least 75,000 trouble-free rounds through it as well. The very best of luck to you if you do decide to get it.

I recently traded a Gen1 G17 for a Gen2 G19 only because i was looking for a ccw gun. I had a choice for the Gen 3 or the Gen2. I picked the Gen2 cause it was in excellent condition for her age. I've never looked back. I've got 2 other Gen3 guns already but my Gen2 just feels right in my hands. Either way you are Good to Go!!!

My gen 4 runs flawlessly. Let the haters hate. One will stop buying and 3 will take his place.

I have three Gen 2 19s. I paid $429 for one, $369 for another, and traded a Gen 3 for the third with a friend.

    $399 for a Gen 2 - no problem

I say go ahead and pick up the Gen 2 while you can. They are getting hard to find, especially in good condition and you can always pick up a Gen 4 at a later date if you choose.

I thought the gen 2's were 3 pin? which generation 19 has no finger grooves with 3 pins?

I could of sworn I saw a gen 2 19 (no finger grooves and it had 3 pins). any help would be appreciated. I'm not too knowledgeable with old glocks yet.
