i bought a g23 upper for installation on my g19 lower. is this doable? the seller said it would work-duh! it fits, and seems to function. anyone suggest a primered only round first? if you know this is bad, please clue me in-there are other glocks i want to buy before i die!
Depends on what 'generation' your G19 is. IF your G19 is a 3rd Gen. ("3 pin" receiver), you can use the G23 slide assembly on it. I thought about buying a G23 slide assembly for my G19, but, for the money I'd spend, I can get the entire G23. (Acutally, the G23 would be LESS money than the G23 slide assembly, by more than $100.00 the last time I checked.)
It will work but I would change out the 9mm ejector for a 40s&w ejector. For safety and reliability. http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=427 http://www.lonewolfdist.com/SchematicsList.aspx?PAGE=Parts%20Schematics
No, you can shoot 9mm. Effectively by changing out the ejector you have a full fledged 23. Shooting 9mm would be akin to the 23 converted to shoot 9mm. Most folk who do the .40 to 9mm conversion just swap a conversion barrel and mags and they work fine. Just my opinion though, if you want to carry the gun as a 19 I would put all the 19 parts back in. Just noticed you're in Cypress. I'm at Hwy 6 and 290/Copperfield. Do you shoot at Hot Wells?
it works great. point is i now have, in essence, a g23 for about $250. to Paul_J, i usually shoot at Tomball Gun Club. email me.
