I basically take his response as Glock saying they were rejects.
I just posted a thread w/pics of an actual FBI 19M's internals. Please see that for reference.
Yea, I was wondering if the DLC coating they supposedly have are like anodized parts that can be done in black or clear...seem no coating with the naked eye.
I saw one at my local dealer. They wanted $729 for it.
I had been asking about them since the day this thread appeared and since Linsey’s is LITERALLY 1.5 miles away I thought they’d have them the next day.
We did remove the slide and compared the internals to a Model 17 Gen 5 MOS and the 17M *DOES* have some type of coating on the trigger bar and ejector.
And everyone could tell the difference between trigger presses between the 17M and the 17 Gen 5 pistols they had in stock. And, no, we did not preface the dry fire with, “do you think the 17M has a better trigger? It has a special coating.”
But I could tell on that one pistol.
Since the 17 MOS and 45 MOS were $639, IIRC, I’d prefer either of the MOS pistols for the coin.
Now that said, the 17M has a place in Glock history for those who must scratch that itch.

Hmmmm..... Real deal or No Deal?
For you lucky fellers in the freer part of the good ol U of S.A.
Picked this one up today can’t wait to get it to the range. Also can’t wait to get a 19M (hopefully) to go with it.
I looked today at 4 am and did not see one 17 M gun on Gunbroke.
Search engine issues on GB?
There are ~50 listed now.
Yeah I’d say it was a bad search. I looked yesterday and there were over 25 that popped up.
Hell, I asked my local guy if he could get any information from his Lipsey rep about these 17M’s. He misunderstood me and thought I wanted another 17M. Two days later and he has another 17M down at the shop.
I don’t know if this is wishful thinking on your part triaxle but there is nothing hard about finding a 17M. They are plentiful and readily available.
I did get one from a Glock employee back before the Lipsey M guns came out , on the bright side I missed getting the super hi priced ones I bid on that were on Gun Broke. I got a good price from the Glock employee, and did get a Lipsey gun . Went to my FFL guy and he did have a another 17 M gun .
I looked at a new 17M today it was serial numbered BENT567 it had the correct sights. It had the blueish colored internals. So they have to be making 2,000 of them minimum??? Maybe even more?
The word I have heard, subject to being wrong of course, is that the Lipsey's M pistols will be there for those who want an FBI-styled-Gen5 versus the recent product updates Glock did to the normal Gen5 line - front cocking serrations, deletion of mag cutout, addition of breechface notch.
Now this offering of 17M and 19M pistols from Lipsey's makes more sense but a total bummer that the Ms were not something truly special.
It is VERY interesting that the newest serial number prefix is BENT, I am guessing that is the old styled non-beveled frame as well.
I can confirm, my 17M is BENT1xx and has the non-beveled frame. Also mine came with Ameriglo Bolds instead of Agents.
Very interesting about the sights. A quick check of the product listing by Lipsey's indicates Agent sights, but I bet this its a change that was made and not addressed on the website.
Does the label for your pistol indicate Agent or Bold sights?
Several of the Lipsey guns were supplied with incorrect sights. I understand Lipseys was getting it corrected. This was 2nd hand from a conversation with my LGS and their Lipsey rep that came up getting a projected date on the 19M.
Mine is noted as “ANS” on the box label.
I may give Lipseys a call today and see if they are able to do anything to get me the correct rear sight.
Given that and professor309s post, I'd say it was just an oversight. A call to Lipsey's should resolve it.
It *seems* the 17Ms are no longer being sold by Lipsey's. 19Ms are still available.
Good, the value just went up for these worthless glocks.
Unfortunately they never did. Contacted them twice and they never corrected it for me.
