Can anyone give me their opinion on the difference in shooting between the 17L and the 34?
Planning on buying one or the other and need help deciding.
It will be a range fun gun.

    Thanks
    David

If you ever want to compete (it's fun!), the 34 is allowed in lots of divisions that the 17L isn't. Plus the 34 costs about $100 less.

For a range fun gun, get the 34. Shooting them is nearly identical. I started a comp with my 34 (2 days old at the time) it had a couple malfunctions (dunno the cause) so I put my 17 upper on the 34 lower and shot the next stage. I didn't have a problem going between the two, then I put the 34 upper back on and shot another 200ish rounds through it.

For practial shooting, the 34 doesn't have any drawbacks.

I think Steve ment the 34 costs $100 more than the 17, which is something I would agree with.

I think we're talking about the G17L versus the G34.

I got the 17L because it is somewhat collectable, plus I do not plan to compete with it.

I have not shot a 34, but shot my 17L back to back with a regular 17 the day I got it. Pretty much felt the same but had slightly less recoil due to it having weight further forward reducing muzzle flip.

If you ever plan on competing with it then the G34.
For all around use go with G34.. less money, easier to conceal, can be used in shooting events (rule size).
Being subjective I feel the G34 has better balance than the G17L. I find no real advantage (for me) in the longer sight radius of the G17L.
i use my G17L just as a fun range gun. I also use it with new shooters as it has so little recoil.

    Thanks.
I think that I will be going with the G34.
Especially since I might compete with it.

Again, thanks for all the comments.
