G17 Gen 2 slide issue

Hi, if this is already posted or in the wrong place please remove it. I picked up a glock 17 gen 2 for my gf and was hopping to get a mirror finish on it but I seem to have an issue getting past what has been done. The original coating is already gone and I can not polish it any farther than what the person did before me. Any ideas on how to improve the finish of the slide it has a nasty grey dull pitty look to it.

You are through the finish, and are now trying to cut through the tennifer.

Advice?

Have it plated and live with a nickel type finish.
Wonder coat it with the latest wonder finish.

You will never get that polished like a mirror. Even if you did cut through the tennifer and were able to polish the slide, you would be left with exposed carbon steel in the white. It will rust.

I know there are places that do it. I have seen the guns plated. I have just never had it done myself. I wouldn't even know who to send it to.

A simple google search turns up several hits. I just don't know who would be good to do it.
