    Need your advice.

I have a second gen G17 that i was planning on trading for a G19 (just got my CCW a couple months ago!). i've been carrying the G17...ok. The barrel length doesn't really bother me but the grip is a tad too long for comfortable CCW. Somebody suggested cutting down the grip and using G19 mags. How much different is the backstrap on the G19 vs the 17? From what I read, you guys say its slightly different (which translates into better feel). I think I remeber reading before about a GT member cutting the grip down to a G26 size, but not a G19 size. I tried doing a search but its "disabled by the administrator"??? can somebody point me in the right direction?

What do you guys think? I get to keep my original gun which I love other than the grip length, G19 mags will cost less than trading for a new G19 and I can still use my 17 rounders and holsters. I would have to get the balls up to take a dremel to my gun though!

Finally, if I do this would I be considered a G1 Niner or a bastard child not loved by the G17 or G19 guys?

    TIA

Hrre's an idea: Save up some cash and buy yourself a nice secondhand Glock 19 so you don't have to butcher up a perfectly good G 17 in the process. Used samples usually run in the high $300s. :)

I wouldn't butcher the 17, save up the cash to buy a 19 or just trade.

I wouldn't chop up the 17. What if by accident you destoy it?

If you don't want to spend the money, make a trade instead.

I like the 19 so much I got two.
