For all accounts, it looks like it would work just fine.

Improved accuracy and muzzle velocity, and it is only less than a half inch longer, so it doesnt look bad on the gun.

    Anybody ever do it?

It will not work, the barrel lugs are different.

You can use a G19 barrel in a G26, or a G34 barrel in a G17, but you cannot use the full size barrel in the compact.

Now, before someone chimes in to argue, lone wolf does offer setups to run longer slides on the compacts, but they are extended versions of the compact barrels.

Most aftermarket makers of Glock barrels offer extended length barrels for the G19.:wavey:

In reality you probably won't notice any benefits from using the longer barrel unless you are using a ransom rest or are a top tier competitor. If you are a top tier competitor, you are going to be using a G34 or G35. With the longer slide you get a longer sight radius.

The question is how much improvement in velocity or accuracy would that half inch of barrel provide?

I'm not saying that you shouldn't do it, just don't expect a significant or even noticeable improvement. It's your firearm, do whatever makes you happy.

Why would it improve accuracy at all?

In theory? More velocity and better bullet stabilization. Actual results? Who knows?
