All of the above Glocks are newer creations in 9mm : Which one would you select and why ?

My favorite Glock is the G45. Best balance and feel for me. The 24rd. mag. is perfect for this pistol and the full grip just fits me perfect for a draw from my Glock Sport Combat Holster( which is my favorite holster) and I have no problem CCW with the G45. I went with the 43X for awhile, but went back to the G45, just a better fit for me.

For a suppressed firearm, a G-45. For field work, a *G-34.
*Yeah, I know it's not on the list but it should be.

I have 2 Gen3 G19's, and an issued G19.
After tens of thousands of rounds through the three, what will the others do differently for me?
Do the G17, 45, and 47 do anything so differently as to exclude the g19?
The 17 balances more rearward and has a full size grip, both of which I like for max handling performance. For me, the 19 offers more in terms of compactness as a carry gun than it gives up in performance, an there's no way I'm going to carry a 45oz gun regardless of size.

So for me, the 17 serves as a fun Glock that's functionally inferior to, but similar in terms of size and shape to my production Tanfo's. Kind of a bridge between them and my carry 19's. And it fits my carry holster, so no problem to throw it in for a change.

And if I carry the 17 every once in a while, can legitimately claim it's a real carry gun at "carry gun" matches. It's a fun choice for stuff like shooting Steel Challenge from AIWB, which isn't legal in a legit match.

It's also interesting to develop a 17, just to see how they behave differently than 19's.

Haven’t shot the 47. But highly doubt there’s that much difference between any of the three. I think people try to analyze things too much and repeat things like “muzzle rise” and “recoil impulse” that they hear on the YouTube and use that to justify their desire to buy another gun.

Standing static, shooting them side by side slowly, you might notice a slight difference between the guns. But actually out shooting and training? Yeah. Doubt you’ll notice anything.

but what do I know?

They’re all designed for the same role and all equally capable in it. The right gun is the one you like/shoot the most/best. For me that’s the 17.5. For someone else it might be one of the others. (I suppose I should qualify that. I’ve never so much as touched a 47.) We’re all correct.

If I could have only one of the three, I'd choose the 45. Mainly because the shorter barrel gives you some carry flexibility most don't have with the longer barrel 17 and 47. I would also choose the 45 over the 19's, but that's just me.

FWIW, I currently have a 17.5 but its a full size gun in a collection where I already have several G19 clones, so I don't need it to be a carry gun.

You asked our pick not what one for you so, I'd pick out of those 3 a g17 because I don't own a fullsize glock yet, multiple slimline and compacts but no fullsize and the g17 is the og... 17.5 would work for me but I'd still prefer it to be a 17.3, that and I think glocks doing too much Lego playing when they could just come out with a real design change like grips

3 very good choices. I’ve owned a few Glocks over the years. Sold em all. Just recently bought a g19.5 and a 43x off a local gun site. Thought I’d always want a 19. If I haven’t owned the others(27,22,34,30) in the past I’d say the 19 is probably the best. Now since I bought the 43x along with the 19 and honestly don’t like the 19 now. Even though they are almost the exact same size the 19 seems blocky. Sold it. Felt the full size grip would be better for me. Honestly I feel I’ll sell the 43x also and stick with my shields for edc. But if your asking I’d say the 45 or 47.

The 47 is a fantastic shooter. I’ve found it much easier to put rounds more accurately down range than my 17’s & 19’s, although the Holosun SCS may get more credit for that than the feel of the pistol itself. Still, no complaints at all, and with the new Glock trigger, it’s just too easy. Get whatever you can get, based on what you are planning to do with it (i.e., MOS or iron sights), and dive in!
