I just purchase a LNIB G17 20th anniversary model, I plan on using this as a range gun and occasional carry.

Is there any extended value with the anniversary models?

It is #889 out of 2000. I was told that out of the 2000 produced only 1200 were sold in the USA.

    Thanks,
    John

PS: traded...never got a chance to shoot it.

I suspect that eventually--maybe in five or more years--the G17 20th anniversary model will have some extra value to a collector. The extra value may or may not be substantial and will depend on the market. And, to appeal to a collector, the gun will have to be in collector's condition, in other words, NIB. If fired and carried, it will always have the same value as an ordinary G17. Personally, I have a couple of G17s to shoot, so I bought my 20th anniversary purely to admire. YMMV.
