I’d say $760 is about the maximum it’s worth.

$760 if it was G17. Condition looks very good. $1K would be a steel

I would disagree with that JMS.
Only a uninformed and desperate enthusiast would pay that much for it.
No box? Take $500 off that immediately.

Maybe that will help keep others out of that auction.

    Hi,
Where all joking about the value of course because all of us would love to have the gun.
I was thinking that it's pretty cool to have some interest from a non regular in an early rare Glock so I didn't want to ignore your question.
The DA prefix G1 17 L P guns were the earliest of the G1 17Ls to be imported. After them were DB and ED. The G1 to G2 transition was early in the ED run. Thus, the ED prefix G1 17 L P guns are the most rare of the G1 Ls. Interestingly, there are also a few G2 17 L P guns.
BK G1 17 Ls were sold in Europe but never imported into the US.
Unfortunately the ported guns do not say ported on the labels, on the slide nor can Glock tell if one was originally ported or not based on the SN.
It seems that about 30 or so % were ported.
This nice, original gun sans box, papers, etc should bring in the low 2000s. I'd say $2000 or less is a great price as a buyer.

    Edited to add....

I think that a G1 17 L P gun is one of the cornerstones of any early Glock collection. The rest being a G 1 17 L, Pencil Barrel, regular non-pencil barrel, and the holy grail of Glock collecting the G1 19. I would also add a G1 cut away to the list even though they are non-firing. They are also very rare and expensive.

It’s refinished. Some owner in the past decided to polish the slide and barrel. I collect but not to the level of some collectors that need the original sales receipt ;)

My Gen3s are shooters, though with prices going the way they are that might change...

My Gen3 gets no mercy, it’s a workhorse. I want to shoot that ported barrel!!

I picked up a 21c thinking it was for the collection. I took it to the range just to put a few rounds through it to see what it was like. As soon as I got home, I ordered 1,000rds of .45acp. That gun is freaking amazing! I don’t know if it will ever see a storage bag :D:cool:

Only $855 so far for a gun worth over $2000. The ending will be fun to watch.

I think we need to assume the market has spoken and basically set the valuation of this piece at $855 maximum. A penny over would be overpaying and effectively a waste of hard earned money.

[sigh] JMS needs a sarcasm button. I thought the auction ended and wrote a post about collecting. Now I have to fill the space with something else. :dancingbanana::elephant::exercise::aodnsb::jumpingjacks::laughing:
