G 26 gen 1 to gen 4?
I have a G 26 which I guess is the first Gen 1? It's a Tupperware boxed one I bought it used ??? but the box says 1997
When were the first G 26's?

The 1996 date I provided is based on information from the old glockfaq website. Since you have an actual unit with a 1995 date, then glockfaq must have been wrong.
From glockfaq website with my added comments on frame gen start and G37, G38 & G39 intro (someone will correct my intro dates for 45GAPs if they are wrong):

Yes, it's off by a year in the case of the G26 and G27. The first ones were out in July 1995 less than a year after passage of the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act which restricted magazine size among other things.
