I have a Gen 2 G-19 that was made in 1991 . I am trying to find out if it was included or if it has the parts that make it a "phase 3" gun . Is there a way to tell ? I did a search and it got really confusing , but I did learn a little about the barrels .
Any help is greatly appreciated .

A Gen2 frame will have finger grips on the frame handle.
A Gen3 frame will have finger grips on the handle and an accessory rail on the dust cover
Sorry, I have no idea what a phase-3 gun is?

I HAVE A GEN 2 GLOCK 19 WITH NO FINGER GROOVES AND 2-PINS . A malfunction associated with the G19 Gen 2 is/was called a "phase 3 " . Symptoms were spents cases being jammed in the extractor and barrel hood at the same time .

Sounds like a stove pipe to me. 95% of ejecton issues are caused by weak 115 gr ammunition. Step up to 124 or 147 and the problem will go away.
I have not seen many Gen2 G19 without serial numbers. What is the serial number prefex?

I am not having any problems , mine is just fine . I was just asking this to try and see if there were any way to identify the ones that were affected .
Mine is just fine and mine has a serial number prefix of TK and was made in 1991

Regarding my statement: I have not seen many Gen2 G19 without serial numbers. What is the serial number prefix?

I meant to say: I have not seen many Gen2 G19 without finger groves. What is the serial number? (I think faster than I type…. Stupid slow fingers)
