The subject line says it all.

I have a G-17L and none of my three front sight tools fit through the hole in the slide.

Therefore, I canot replace my front sight.

Basically, no one has these tools. The hole in the G17L slides are much smaller than the diameter of the front tools now available.

Does this same issue occur with the G34?

No. The G34 has a bigger hole for accessing the front sight.

I can't remember if the holes on the 24 and 17L are the same, or if the 24 has the larger one...but my Glock front sight tool must have worked on the 24 because I'd put sights on one. I remember looking at a friend's 17L, but can't recall if my tool fit it or not. I kind of think it didn't.

Some of the very early 34/35s had the same small hole but not many were made.

In my experience the Glock front sight tool works with the small hole slides.

What experience is that? Because I just acquired a 17L slide and I have a 34 and 35 and the hole to access the front sight on the 17L is DEFINITELY SMALLER!

I have a tool that fits my HFT-XXX G17L with 1/16" to spare. I think it came with a set of AmeriGlo sights, but it's been so long I'm not sure. If I had to bet your money on it, I'd give 100 to 1 for AmeriGlo, though .

    Good luck.

Hmmm, just found another one that fits (@ same diameter), but wouldn't bet your money on where it came from.
