ok im wondering the law says i have to inform someone i have a gun if i enter their home, what about their yards? My job requires me to go into many peoples yards several times a day so is their anything i need to do? Also do i need to inform my employer?
You will need to let us know what state you are in. Also, as the advice rolls in, make sure to check the code yourself. On the internet, we are all experts but it will be you that is trouble for following bad advice. What you need to know is if it says building/residence/premises/property and how the code defines each. Many states don't require you to inform. There have been several lively discussions on here about informing.
d62, this is really the wrong place to ask that question. All you will get here are opinions, but none that you can stake your freedom on, even if they're right. We try our best, but, if you don't understand the law, get a lawyer for an hour and let him give you a written opinion. Barring that, read the law yourself. It should be plain English. Good luck.
it is in plain english . . . it just says home and it doesnt say anything about an employer unless they have posted " handgun carry is prohibited"
d62_4life Yea I just tried to find anything on this in AR law - get a lawyer- as nothing is printed to be an obvious answer! The have no gunlaw/firearms section so it obviously they don't want the average citizen to find it!
