After talking to a number of guys, including Bac, I think I've pretty well decided on a Fusion 1911. Probably Commander sized with bobtail. But I'm not 100% on that.

Any of you guys have 1911s from this company? Any pics to post or words of advisement?

Was going for a Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail, but it's been discontinued and in general is getting hard to find outside of some used ones with owner mods. Looks like this one may be even better, albeit a little more pricey.

    Kindest,

    Well, Mac, you've seen mine.

    Its the Commander Elite model.

I've never had an issue with it, except for the rear sight shooting loose during the first 50 rounds.

It just wasn't tightened from the factory.

Commander Elite is just what I was looking at. Any particular mods or adjustments you would have made, or would recommend making, for a new order to them?

How is the fit and finish of this one compared to others in the price range?

And thanks for the heads up. I've spent hours on their site lately and it's just amazing how beautiful all the pics are. I'm such a sucker for good gun pics.

I was really attracted to them back when they had really great prices. They make quite a few 10mm's too... well, at least they used to (I haven't checked in a while). I haven't actually seen one in person, nor do I really hear much about them, good or bad.

Mac, I would have ordered it the same way if I had to do it over.

Fit and finish is fine for a high end production gun.

Fusions can be customized in any way you want, but they are production quality.

Here are some pics with better lighting.

Just a little friendly note: Before you order that Fusion take a look at the Dan Wesson CCO vs. Fusion CCO thread in the 1911 subforum. I'm not impressed.

True. I did read that and its discouraging to see a Fusion leave the factory like that.

    However, mine has was fine.

Hmm. Well, I just read through it and I may want to condsider going the DW route again. I've read a bunch on fusion lately, but I don't like that they slipped to such a degree... could be cutbacks, the economy, etc, but that makes me nervous when you have to wait 4-7 months as it is.

So should I still look for a CBOB, even though it 's been discontinued, or should I look at the CCO?

    The CBOB discontinued? That's nuts.
I guess I loose again. Wait until my wife hears I now HAVE to get an Ed Brown.

Yeah. I still think I like the product, but I don't want to wait 6 months for an accident. Let's see how this one plays out, and I'll give them another look in a year or so.
