The title pretty much sums it up! Lets begin...
Someone emphasizing strongly to a gun newb that S&W Sigma is one of the top of the line guns you could ever own :/
"Its just like the one in call of duty."
CorBon ammunition has no equal!
HK did not make the MP-5.
.357 Sig can be fired in a .357 mag but not the other way around!
1911's never jam on hollow point ammunition.
Glocks don't need to be cleaned.
Black talon ammunition can go through body armor and that is why it's not sold to civilians anymore.
The #1 dumbest thing that I have ever heard a gun shop...
Buy a Taurus over a Glock, they are equal in quality!
(Needless to say, I no longer do business with this shop for obvious reasons.)
i have done this to friends who dont fully understand guns. i usually tell them all about the history behind an M1 Garand or the carbine, and it isn't untill i say "it's probably in Call Of Duty where after the last shot it "Pings" and u reload 8 more rounds." "....ooh, ya i know what your talking about now"
I have had folks(several) come up to the counter and ask me about converting (this gun) to full auto, and when I enplane the short story that it would be illegal to create a MG, but just before I get to the part about how to legally acquire an MG, almost with out fail they inform me that they are "pretty sure" that I'm wrong since they "took the class" "have a class 3 permit" "have a class 3" or are otherwise "already making" MG's or that they can do "busrt since its not FA"
I also had a guy come in and ask me point blank "if I have a Ferrari engine in the garage I can put that in to my ford right?" It took a few minutes and several more metaphors before we figured out he was asking if he could drop some M16 trigger components in to his AR.
We also have a guy that used to come in once every few weeks and talk quietly but openly about executing South Africans during the Apartheid era. Creepy MF'er Hasn't come around for about 6 months thank god.
We were at a gun show and an gentleman walks up and looks at the gold trimmed, polished stainless, with pearl grips Taurus PT92. and proclaimed that he liked the way it looked with his rings as he checked how it would look pointed out flat(though in a safe direction with his finger off the trigger) It was the epitome of a stereotype and rather entertaining, Though he was buying it to protect his wife and child whom I met and all three were really nice folks, bought his gun and then went off through the show looking for some "chrome mags"
And lastly one of the guys we have denied a purchase to up front, This stringy white guy dripping with sweat has "gotta get a gun today!" couldn't seem to maintain a conversation, kept disappearing and returning, looked to me like he had done a line or two of coke, and then followed it with some shrooms, and now needed a gun to settle some debts with the **** that was now chasing him. I don't know who the hell let him in the door, eventually the the PD had a conversation with him and escorted him off.
Tryin some secret squirrel stuff on ya, huh?
yeah there must be some good gross profit margin in taurus or something. I just heard the salesman behind the counter pitching a taurus 9mm to a guy who didn't want it cause it didnt have night sights and say "you could easily drill out the front iron site and glue in a tritium vial"
and "the only reason cops carry glocks is cause they give cops a killer deal on them"
glocks are like dodge neons you can find parts for em anywhere when they break
(when they break?)
I would be willing to put a Glock up against a Taurus any day and see who the winner would be. I'm willing to bet in a 10K round torture test, the Taurus falls apart, jams, or has some other issue. Am I bashing Taurus, no, but Glock makes a better gun, that's why cops carry them, and because they get deals on them. Why doesn't Taurus offer the LE community deals on their firearms and try to get some of the market? I wonder how many officers that have to trust their lives to their firearm would be willing to jump on board? Anyhow, to keep this thread on topic......... I'm just repeating what I overheard. They aren't my words, just what I heard in a gun shop.
"No, its not loaded." BANG!!!
As the bullet ricocheted off the floor between myself and my 13 tear-old son after we just got inside the door before the bullet went into the ceiling.
The next thing heard was me on the BlackBerry:
"Hello, XYZ PD...can you send a car by BillyJoe Jimbob's Gun Store at 123 Main Street?....Problem?...There is no problem...yet. But there is going to be. "
"Do you carry (insert size) bullets?"
Answer 1: Yep, x amount per box of 50.
Answer 2: Yeah but we sold them all and won't order more because they don't sell.
And probibly my favorite...If you shoot someone and its justified you won't have any problems with the courts, civil or criminal.
I have had many different brands of handguns, and I shoot my Taurus PT92 better than others (better than my GLOCKs or Sigs) With it, I make tight groups and double taps that usually make one oval-shaped hole.
....but I carry a GLOCK
Sign on the front door: NO GUNS ALLOWED
Clerk to female customer looking at a .380ish sized semi-auto. "If anbody xxxxx with you, you just point this at them and shoot 'till the guns empty." I was just a young, dumb, hick (I'm not young anymore) but even then I knew enough to think..."Would you please define "xxxxx with you"?
got to add my two cents worth here. woman told owner of gun shop she had to buy her boyfriend a new pistol. she had threw his in the trash because she did'nt like guns.
We can order you a Glock 7.
Only criminals have suppressor..
I was in a gun shop in Kansas City, Missouri and there was a guy in to buy his first pistol; he was maybe 5 foot 5, and a weak and sickly 125 pounds with absolutely no muscle and tiny little hands. On top of all that he obviously knew nothing about guns. When I got through at the indoor range they were just boxing up his purchase for home defense; he was now the proud owner of a short barreled .44 magnum revolver. I have spent years wondering if Casper ever even fired this cannon and if so did he survive the smack to the face that I'm sure resulted.
