I purchased new 686 in 1985 and then I purchased a 2nd Gen G17, which I am still authorized to carry at work. Two of my favorite guns!

Thanks Hugo, I've been crazy busy, but I plan on shooting my G-17 next week. MY G-26 is still in the shop. I miss it something powerful. I'll throw up some pics and a review for sure.

I just shot an all steel LE match in Pomona, CA and the old man did good. Unfortunately I had to leave early so I missed the shoot off stages, however when I left my four man team and we had shot into the 13th position out of 29 teams.

I think I did good cleaning everyone of my stages although some of my teammates left a lot of plates standing ergo the 13th slot.

Anyway, I shot using my Gen 3 G17 and had my Gen 2 G17 there in case I needed a back up. The Gen 3 worked like a dream.

Also, I have been shooting the Gen 4 G17 at work a lot since a lot of folks are bringing theirs to me for inspection. I'm really warming up to the Gen 4.

I'm looking forward to your range report and pics of both your G17 and G26!

Don, how's that G17 shooting? And does the straight back strap on your G26 make a big difference accuracy wise?

Back in the late 1980's, I bought my first semi-auto pistol to keep my S&W 686 .357 magnum 4" company. It was this revolutionary 9mm Austrian pistol with a polymer frame and a magazine that held 17 rounds. I ended up selling it, but I always missed having a Glock 17.

Well, I finally decided to try out a Glock 17 Gen IV at my LGS and I really liked the Gen IV grip with the new magazine release. Needless to say, I bought it. I just put Ameriglo Pro I-Dot night sights on it. They are awesome.

I've been too busy to shoot it yet plus I'm waiting to get my G-26 back from Coldbore Customs (Grip reduction). I have X/S
Big Dots on the G-26 BTW. Hopefully, I'll get my new Glock 17 and custom G-26 to the range for a shooting session soon.

It happened to ALL of us Brother! I bought what seems like EVERY gun, around the G17! Finally ended up with a Gen4 also. What a pistol! Second to NONE!

Two Glock 9mm outings are always a ton of fun. I pair my Glock 34 with a Glock26, or my Glock 20 and 29 on other outings. It's a good test to shoot for accuracy with the big version at 10 or 15 yards. Then, load up one of the subcompacts and bring the target in to five yards and do six rounds in ten seconds. Sometimes, the groups end up looking very similar.
