ago..he bought it used from a guy at a gun shop..the gun shop didnt want to buy so my friend ask the guy what he was looking to get..i wont say the price but he gave what the guy wanted..plus he got a new glock light and a holster..
the only problem was the guy broke the recoil spring trying to get it back together..he chiped a piece of the plastic of the back of the spring..
it still sat the way it was supposed to so he just ordered a new one..he wanted to see if it would work..
we went shooting today but he went yesterday also..he put 50 rounds through it and it worked just fine..

he got the new spring today..and it worked fine to..

I have seen Glocks that worked fine with broken guide rods and broken recoil springs. It is hard to break a Glock so it don't work even on perpose.

Glocks can take quite the beating and still keep going.

I think you may have missed the point, which was, "you can't choose between a steel or plastic recoil rod". You can have either 1 or 2 piece steel (in 2 or 3 different configurations) though.

I was confused I guess...wasn't sure why anyone would choose plastic over steel :faint:

Thought we were just speaking about choices:rofl:

FWIW, Glock will usually send you a new guide rod if you call them. I did a few weeks ago to get one for my 23. Glock sent me one free.

So, you are not going to reveal what was paid for the G21?

    The suspense is a killer:wavey:

My buddy bought a brand new G19 that someone said was a little messed up and wouldn't fire properly (around 50 rounds through it). He paid less than $300 for it. I took at look at it and all that was wrong was the spring for the slide stop lever. For $10 we fixed the G19 and made it brand new again.

    Its killing me:rofl:

Seriously though my G21 is my favorite handgun. With nite sights I think I paid around $650.

Well, plastic absolutely will not rust. Plastic is lighter and can be stronger than some steel. It works just fine in a Glock pistol.

I think we are talking about choices.
