My, my how times have changed in the last 18 months. Back then..., well, lets just be glad that suppliers are now being very creative to encourage us to loosen the purse strings.

    Thanks for the heads up.

They're trying to get your money before your wife tells you not to spend anything this close to Christmas.

Memnon: I appreciate the heads up BUT Graf & Sons for the same products with Hazmat is only $3.00 more! Powder Valley is making it up in their price.

    Justification please?

I posted the other day that primers on PV and Grafs is the same price.

However, Grafs was having a SALE on CCIs. Are you comparing a SALES price against normal price? Because Grafs is usually not cheaper than PV when I've compared them. Grafs does run sales more often than PV, so if you can catch them then you'll come out ahead. But "regular price" against "regular price"... no.

ron59: I simply went to Grafs site to compare. The CCI's were $127.99 + 25 Haz = $152.99 vs $150 at PV. Did I overlook something?

Not to add to the PV vs Grafs debate, but I know that PV will include powder in the same box. I recall that some retailers will not ship powder and primers together.

Interesting. The CCI small pistol primers are normally $159.99 but are on sale right now for $114.99. However the small MAGNUM primers are listed at $127.99, doesn't say anything about a sale ??
    http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/3504?

If you look at the prices of the "per 1000" instead of "per 5000", you'll see they're the same. That's either a sale price or clearance or something.

I've only been doing this for 2 years and have purchased over 40,000 primers, and I've compared prices at PV, Grafs, Cabelas, wherever... PV is pretty much always cheaper except when somebody has a sale. I suspect if we look again in a few weeks... those won't be $127. Get 'em at that price while you can.

Oh.... and I haven't even really SEEN primers "on sale", (except for maybe Wolf/Tula) until the last 4-5 months. This time last year they were still frequently out of stock.

Don't forget to factor in shipping cost. Graf's s&h is a fixed $5.00 no matter how much you buy. PV s&h will be at least $15.00 and increases with the amount you buy.

I love PV and they are my number two components vendor (number one is Wideners), but $30.00 for 1k of spp is just silly.
