Dose anyone know how much Glock charges to replace a frame? I had a kaboom with my G17. Originally I did not think the pistol suffered any damage other than a missing extractor, but I found a hairline crack by the trigger guard. I actually have put over 100 rounds through the gun since (testimonial as to how tough these guns really are) shoots as good as ever. It is just that cash is a little tight right now and was wondering what to expect.:dunno:

Call 1-770-432-1202 and ask for the Warranty Service Department and they will give you an official answer. You will have to send in your complete slide so that they can check for proper engagement.

Try Glock first like was mentioned and see what they will do. They will probably fix it for nothing. If they won't, go to lonewolfdist.com and buy one of their frames. All of the parts from your frame will fit it.
I built a Glock 17L using their frame, slide and barrel. I ordered another and am building a Glock 17 22rimfire.

I'm betting RELOADS
Yes it was a reload I am not sure if the gun fired slightly out of battery. or an over charge. I have a fixed cavity style powder measure, and a double charge of Bullseye powder, 8.0 gr would have destroyed the gun. I actually did not discover the crack until much later, the gun functions fine just want to make it right. I called Glock today and a new frame only costs $43.00 so when I get the chance i will send it in. Thanks for all the advice, I am a little embarrassed about this, been shooting and reloading for a long time (like 40+ years) with no mishaps.:dunno:

I went to Glock with a Gen.2 23 that I thought had a crack in the chamber.
It turned out not to be so but just a scratch mark.

But then they told me my frame needed replacing as it was beat up.
Proberly caused by weak recoil spring they said.Said it should be changed every 2,000- 3,000 rds.

As I got the 23 used , I had to go along with this opinion.

Glock kept the pistol and told me it would about 2 weeks before I got it back.
2 weeks from the day I left it, a Fed-Ex truck delivered it to my house.

The only thing is the frame was a Gen.3 not a Gen 2 which I would rather have.
Now I have a pistol where the Serial numbers don't match and a later frame.

Thanks, for the reply. I have been suspecting that to cause some trouble. I never used a powder that wouldn't overflow the case, with a double charge and that with the single stage press. I can't blame all KBs on the progressives, though. I bought a Lyman tong tool set for the 38 Special that a friend ruined a S&W revolver, by using. He was using Bullseye powder and not paying attention. It didn't blow the cylinder wall out, just put a nice bulge in it.
