A friend gifted me a manual skeleton pocket watch. It is not a fine piece of man-jewelry or even an example of a quality movement, but it's darned neat. I could watch it for hours.

My watch pocket is finally getting some use. It's completely impractical considering what else I keep in my pockets and the fact that I have another timekeeping device (my phone), but it's fun to carry around. If I get bored, I just pull it out and watch the internals move.

Anyone else keep a watch on a chain?

I have an old A. Lange & Söhne that I will wear when I'm in a tuxedo sometimes.

I have a small collection of pocket watches. They are all from the late 1800s. When I wear jeans, I actually use the watch pocket. I like old school high quality stuff - I'm weird that way.

I thought you weren't supposed to wear a watch with a tuxedo?

Obviously, you wouldn't want to lose it or anything.

My grandfather used to rebuild and work on pocket watches and clocks as a hobby, when he passed I mentioned it'd be cool to have a nice pocket watch. I was married in January and for xmas my now wife bought me a very nice stainless skeleton pocket watch and had it engraved. I wore it on the inside of the tuxedo for the wedding.

My dad has a Howard and I have a Hamilton. Both are from the 1920s and (I believe) are railroad-certified. I know the Hamilton is.

A pocketwatch in the waistcoat is usually considered acceptable. Nowadays most people think a slim dress watch is ok too. I wouldn't wear a sports watch with a tux.

I've got several. About half are from the early 1900's. Two of them used to belong to my Grandfather. The last couple days I was carrying one that I was given last year for Fathers Day. I think they're cool.

My daughter gifted me one upon her wedding...

...Unfortunately, it will go in a drawer with two old family heirloom pocket watches...

Can't see any way I would use it ....
