Friday I saw a Glock 22 Gen 4. It was the only Gen 4 Glock in the store and was for display only, not for sale. I grabbed it to get the feel for it. It has a smaller backstrap, kind of bent inward to make the grib smaller. The pyramid spikes are much more dull, with top triangle cut off. Smaller grip, somewhat better grip than Gen 3, but not a dig-in like grip of the RTF2. I did not try on a larger backstrap because I like one piece grip better.

I ended up buying me a RTF2 Glock 23, and had Trijicon night sight installed. This one had the traditional 7 vertical notches, not the Shark Gills. When I got home, I handled it often and tried my Glock 19 Gen 3. Well, I must say Gen 3 is now too slippery. So, I will be waiting for a 19 RTF2, and sell my 19 Gen 3 later on.

I really like my RTF2's but I needed a smaller receiver is the main reason I purchased a new Gen.4 G17.

Makes me wonder how many RTF2's were made with the curved serations

I love love love my RTF2, mine has the shark gills and I dig them. I also dig the verticals. I put about 150 rds through her last time at the range and it was solid in my hands the entire time. It digs into your hands but with no pain.

Glock must have gotten a lot of negative feedback on those gills. Good.

The only reason I can see not to like the RTF2 is if it is "tearing" on an officers uni.

    They feel great to me.

I've been thinking about buying this exact model after seeing poor performance from 9mm GS out of my model 19 a couple of weeks ago.

    Where did you get it?"

What are you guys talking about ..."shark gills', and "verticals"?

Waht is the difference between the RTF2 and the Gen4? I am interested in the G22 Gen4. Is any other Glock currently available in Gen4? Also, what is the curved backstrap?

Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks

I actually love the look of the "shark gills". In fact, I'm hoping that my buddy wants to trade me my G23 gen 3 for his G27--THEN I will immediately go and buy the one and only G23 RTF w/"shark gills" that I've ever seen at a local dealer.

I wish I had gone to this dealer and bought the RTF originally. I can't justify buying another G23 simply for the frame and curve serrations.

Other option would be to post my nearly new current G23 here for sale, and buy the RTF that I want.

Here's a link to several pictures showing the differences. Keep in mind that RTF2 pyramids have sharper ends, and have more pyramids than Gen 4 nipples.
