Anyone seen this movie yet. It appears to be getting good reviews.

My buddy Mike and I plan to see it. Our wives aren't interested. Mike is a big car guy, especially Ford. I like racing.
What was your take on it?

Looks like a good story, likely worth watching on the big screen.

The movie is about racing, not recalls. HH

GT 40. Carrol Shelby. LeMans. AC Cobra. Heck, look at this oddball picture:

And yes, I did drive a Road Runner today!

Just got back from seeing it. Was a very good movie. Excellent mix of humor and history.

My wife & I both went to see Ford v Ferrari (Le Mans ‘66) this afternoon. She gave it a 9 out of 10, and I’d agree with that rating. An overall excellent movie. Well worth seeing in the theater.

I would have like a lot more - hell, even a little - of the technology that was used. Seems to me the movie was more glamor than tech.

But Ford said they'd do it and they did.

In the previews Matt Damon doesn't seem to fit the role well.

I think they had to glaze over a lot of the details just to keep it a 2 1/2 hour movie. We watched this documentary (on Amazon
IIRC) and it covered more of the details.

I sort of agree. I pictured Carroll Shelby as tall & lanky, something Matt Damon isn’t. But he had is voice down pretty well & did a nice job, especially at the ending.

I am hoping they give credit to Carrol Smith, the guy the kept the cars together for 24hrs.

I learned everything I ever needed to know about keeping my Formula Fords together by reading his first book. More than all the nonsense anecdotes guys offered in the pits in all my years racing.

Just a nuts and bolts kind of guy, AN of course. ;)

Heard an interview of Matt Damon discussing the movie on NPR. Was fascinating to find out the actors pretend to drive the cars - steering wheels disconnected, or when they do drive it's under 35 mph - while a stunt driver actually controls the movements of the car from a separate vehicle.

Yes, I just saw it. Well worth the time and money. It's 2.5 hours... it flew by, I wanted more. It's one of the few movies that I would pay to see again.

The acting is superb. The characters fit their rolls and are believable. The cars and action are amazing... apparently very little CGI was used. And the story is true and pretty accurate from what I have read. There is no modernism in this movie. No 2019 PC touchy feely sensitivity. It's 1964 when men were men, Carol Shelby and Ken Miles (Matt Damon and Christian Bales) and and women were women (Caitriona Balfe)... and Ford had just released the Mustang and was focused on selling cars. And there is a very touching sub plot about the family life of Ken Miles. His son plays an important role and his wife... well, we don't get to see enough of her ;).

It's a great move. See it, you won't be disappointed.

    I give it :D:D:D:D:D.

It was very, very, well done.

My only criticisms of the movie is with the way the 'professional race drivers' repeatedly gawked at each other while driving at speed (which works when your 'race car' is actually being towed by a camera truck), the external 'Ray-Ban' markings on the Ray-Bans, and with a single plastic (rather than paper) potato chip bag.
