Looking to get a dehydrator so that I can make my own jerky and trail mix for when I get back into backpacking and primitive camping.....

Suggestions? I don't want to break the bank but I do want to make quality stuff to munch on.

Never done this before so give it to me 101.

    Thanks in advance.

We have had the 9 tray for years now. Excellent value if you plan to dehydrate a lot. If you are going small scale...Wallyworld carries American Harvest. Nice machines for small scale. They are around $40-$50 for 4 or 5 tray(round) models.

For meats, all I use is one bottle of MOORES ORIGINAL MARINADE with one quarter cup of ketchup blended in, and one heaping tsp. of ground red pepper. Marinate one hour...and dehydrate.
