https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/2...bon-conflict-is-brewing-in-the-mediterranean/ I have written in the past why and how the Syrian conflict was created and the resolution. You read the article and understand the dynamics and follow the money. "Friendships" are founded on money considerations. A few years ago, the Saudis/Qataris were fighting against Russia and Syria as they wanted a pipeline for their exports of petroleum products to Europe. When the US changed its laws and started exporting, the Russian project to extend gas lines under the sea from Turkey to Europe collapsed as well as the Saudi plans. Now people scrambling because the Greeks, Greek Cypriots and Israel are going to develop oil fields and build its own pipeline. So the "friendships" realign themselves. A few years ago, Israel and Turkey were friendly and Russia and Greece were friendly. Now the friendships change. Religions/ethics/"national interests" are and have been secondary to making money.
